Editing Karo runs AI image generation, video generation, background removal, upscaling and text generation. This policy explains what happens when you press generate, what you get, and what you should not assume.

1. How generation works#

We do not train or host our own models. When you generate something, your prompt and any input media are sent to the third-party provider that serves the model you selected, and the result is returned and saved to your account.

Each model in the catalogue names its provider and its credit cost before you run it. Choosing a model is choosing a provider.

Your name, email and billing details are never sent to a model provider. Only the prompt, the input media and the model settings are.

We cannot grant you more than the provider grants us

Each provider sets its own terms for what may be done with its model's Output, and some are stricter than ours. Where a provider's terms limit commercial use, restrict a category of use, or require attribution, those limits apply to you and nothing in our policies overrides them. Check the provider's terms before building a commercial product on a specific model.

2. Two words used throughout#

Ownership is easier to state precisely with two defined terms, which mean the same here as they do in the Terms of Service:

Input
Everything you submit to an AI feature — your prompts and settings, plus any image, video, audio or text you attach to them.
Output
Everything an AI feature returns in response to your Input — generated images, video, audio and text, including edited versions of media you supplied.

3. Who owns the Output#

These are the same six statements that appear as section 6 of the Terms of Service. They are reproduced here word for word rather than summarised, so there is no gap between the contract and the policy.

You own the Output, as between you and us

As between you and Editing Karo, all right, title and interest in the Output belongs to you, to the fullest extent those rights are available under applicable law. We claim no ownership of it.

We assign whatever rights we hold

To the extent we hold any right, title or interest in the Output, and to the extent those rights are capable of being assigned, we assign them to you on the date they arise. Where a right cannot be assigned, we grant you a perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free, sublicensable licence to use it instead. This is a transfer of whatever we have — it is not a representation that any such right exists, that it is assignable, or that it is enforceable anywhere. If we hold nothing, nothing passes, and clauses 4 to 6 below explain why that is a real possibility.

You may use the Output commercially

You may use, modify, reproduce, publish, distribute and sell the Output, including commercially, subject to three things: applicable law, these terms and the Acceptable Use Policy, and the terms of the third-party AI provider whose model produced it.

We cannot promise the Output is unique

AI models are probabilistic and are used by many people. Another user giving a similar Input to the same model may receive substantially similar Output. The Output is not exclusive to you, and we make no representation that it is novel, original or unlike anything else.

We cannot promise the Output is protectable

The copyright status of purely machine-generated material is unsettled in many jurisdictions, India included. In some places it may attract no copyright protection at all, or protection only where a human has contributed enough creative input. We make no representation that any Output is protectable by copyright, or that it is registrable, anywhere.

We cannot promise the Output infringes nothing

We do not and cannot screen Output against every existing work. We make no representation or warranty that the Output does not infringe a third party's copyright, trademark, design right, publicity right or any other right. Reviewing the Output before you use it is your responsibility.

In plain terms: make things, sell what you make, and do not assume anyone can stop someone else making something similar — or that you could stop them.

Building a brand on generated work?

Get your own legal advice first. Whether a logo or mascot generated by a model can be registered as a trademark, or protected by copyright, depends on the jurisdiction and on how much human creative input went into it. That is a question for a lawyer who knows your market, not for a policy page.

4. Your Inputs are your responsibility#

Everything you feed into a model is yours to account for. By submitting an Input you confirm that:

  • You must own your Input, or otherwise hold all rights and permissions needed to submit it to us and to have it processed by a third-party AI provider.
  • You must not submit an Input containing material you do not have the rights to — including copyrighted images, footage, music, fonts or text belonging to someone else.
  • You must not submit an Input depicting an identifiable person without the consent required by the law that applies to you.
  • You remain responsible for your Input and for any Output you choose to use, publish or rely on.
  • Rights in your Input stay with you. Submitting it grants us only the narrow licence needed to operate the service.

Uploading someone else's work does not make the Output yours

Running a copyrighted photograph, a frame of a film or a licensed font through an AI tool does not wash the rights out of it. If you had no right to the Input, you have no right to the Output either — whatever this policy says about ownership.

5. Accuracy and review#

AI output is generated, not verified. Models invent facts, misspell text inside images, get hands and reflections wrong, and produce confident nonsense in writing tools.

  • Review everything before you publish it.
  • Never rely on AI-written text for medical, legal, financial or safety-critical claims without checking it.
  • Re-read any text a model placed inside an image before it goes to print.

6. Credits, retries and failures#

  • Credits are deducted when a generation runs — the cost is the provider's, and it is incurred whether or not you like the result.
  • A generation you dislike is not a failed generation and is not refunded in credits.
  • A generation that fails for a technical reason — a provider outage, a timeout, an internal error — has its credits returned to your balance automatically.
  • A generation blocked by a provider's safety filter is not refunded, because the provider still charges us for the attempt.

How credits are priced and spent is set out in the Credits Policy.

7. What you may not generate#

The generation tools are covered by the Acceptable Use Policy in full. In short: no sexual content involving minors, no non-consensual intimate imagery, no deepfakes of real people used to deceive, no forged documents, and nothing illegal.

Providers run their own safety filters on top of ours. A refused prompt may have been refused by them, not by us.

8. Disclosing AI use#

Some platforms, publishers and advertising regulators require AI-generated media to be labelled. That obligation sits with you as the publisher, not with us. Check the rules of wherever you are posting.

9. Models change#

Models are added, upgraded, repriced and retired by their providers, sometimes with little notice. We update the catalogue to match. A model you used last month may not be available this month, and credit costs follow provider pricing.

Retiring a model does not touch what you already made

Rights in Output you generated while a model was available are unaffected by that model later being removed, repriced or replaced. You keep the files and you keep the rights.
