Credits are the currency for AI generation in Pixel Studio and Vision Studio: AI image and video generation, background removal, upscaling and the other AI photo tools. Content Studio does not use credits — it runs on a monthly word allowance set by your plan, and only the words actually generated count against it. Motion Studio exports are measured in export minutes, not credits.
1. What a credit is#
A credit represents roughly one US cent of underlying provider cost. Pricing a generation in credits rather than rupees means a model's cost can follow its provider's pricing without the whole plan structure having to change.
A credit buys the running of a generation, not a guaranteed result and not a warranty about what comes back. As between you and us, the Output is yours to the fullest extent the law allows, and we assign you whatever rights we hold in it. You may use it commercially, subject to applicable law and to the terms of the AI provider that produced it. We cannot promise it is unique, protectable by copyright, or free of third-party rights.
Every model and tool shows its credit cost before you run it. A high-end video model costs far more than a background removal; nothing is charged without the price being on screen first.
2. Where credits come from#
There are two kinds, and they behave differently.
| Plan credits | Purchased credits | |
|---|---|---|
| How you get them | Granted automatically each billing month | Bought as a credit pack, any time |
| Roll over? | No — reset each month | Yes |
| Expiry | End of the billing month | 12 months from purchase |
| Spent | First | Only after plan credits run out |
| Refundable? | No, they are part of the plan | No — credit packs are final once bought |
Plan credits are always spent first
Because plan credits expire at the end of the month and purchased credits last a year, the system always spends the expiring ones first. You never lose a credit that could have been saved.
3. Monthly allowance by plan#
| Plan | Credits each month |
|---|---|
| Free | 50 credits |
| Starter | 200 credits |
| Creator | 400 credits |
| Pro | 800 credits |
| Studio | 2,000 credits |
The allowance is granted when your billing month rolls over, and the previous month's unused plan credits are replaced rather than added to.
4. Buying more credits#
Run out mid-month? Buy a pack without changing plan. Packs are a one-off purchase, not a subscription — nothing recurring is set up.
| Pack | Price | Effective rate |
|---|---|---|
| 100 credits | ₹249 | ₹2.49 per credit |
| 300 credits | ₹649 | ₹2.16 per credit |
| 800 credits | ₹1,499 | ₹1.87 per credit |
| Custom amount | ₹100 to ₹50,000 | ₹2.49 from ₹100, ₹2.16 from ₹649, ₹1.87 from ₹1,499 per credit, rounded down to whole credits |
Purchased credits are added to your balance immediately and expire 12 months after purchase.
5. How credits are spent#
- Credits are deducted when a generation starts, not when it finishes.
- The cost is shown before you run anything, and your remaining balance is always visible in the dashboard.
- Every movement — grant, spend, returned credits, purchase, expiry — is recorded in your credit history with a timestamp.
- Free actions stay free: designing on the canvas, editing a video timeline, saving, and standard exports do not cost credits.
6. Two limits you should know about#
- Per-generation ceiling — a cap on what a single generation may cost, set by your plan. It exists so one 1080p video render cannot consume a month's allowance in a single click. Having the balance is not enough; the plan has to allow it.
- Monthly spend ceiling — a cap on total spend in a billing month, set as a multiple of your allowance. A safety rail against a runaway session, not a second allowance.
Hitting either is a plan limit, not a balance problem. Upgrading raises both.
7. When credits come back#
Technical failures are always returned
If a generation fails because of a provider outage, a timeout or an error on our side, its credits are returned to your balance automatically. You do not need to ask.
Credits are not returned when:
- The generation worked but you do not like the result. AI output varies; the provider still charged us.
- A safety filter blocked the prompt. The attempt is billed to us either way.
- You cancelled or navigated away after the generation had already started.
8. Expiry, transfer and cash value#
- Plan credits expire at the end of each billing month.
- Purchased credits expire 12 months after purchase.
- Credits have no cash value and cannot be exchanged for money.
- Credits cannot be transferred, sold, gifted or moved between accounts.
- Credits are forfeited if an account is closed for a breach of the Acceptable Use Policy.
Losing credits is not losing your work
Credits expiring or being forfeited does not retroactively affect rights in Output you had already generated lawfully. Those rights are dealt with in section 6 of the Terms of Service and survive the credits being gone.
9. Credit packs are final#
No refunds on credit packs
A credit pack is final once bought, whether or not any of its credits have been used. Credits for a generation that fails on our side are returned to your balance automatically.
The full rules are in the Refund & Cancellation Policy.
