Editing Karo respects intellectual property and expects its users to do the same. This page explains how to tell us about content on the platform that infringes your rights, and what happens next.

1. Our position#

  • Users own the content they create, and are responsible for having the rights to everything they upload — including everything they submit to an AI feature as an Input.
  • We remove infringing content when it is properly reported.
  • We close the accounts of users who infringe repeatedly.
  • The templates, graphics, fonts and stock assets we supply are licensed for use inside Editing Karo — they are not yours to redistribute on their own.

2. Reporting infringement#

Use the grievance form and choose Copyright notice, or send a notice to support@editingkaro.com with the subject line Copyright Notice. For a Play Karo video, requests to remove it are handled within 72 hours. To be actionable a notice must include all of the following:

  1. 1Your name, postal address, email address and telephone number.
  2. 2Identification of the work you say has been infringed — a link to the original, or a copy of it.
  3. 3Identification of the material on Editing Karo that you say infringes it, with enough detail for us to locate it (a direct link is best).
  4. 4A statement that you believe in good faith that the use is not authorised by the rights holder, its agent or the law.
  5. 5A statement that the information in your notice is accurate, and that you are the rights holder or authorised to act for them.
  6. 6Your physical or electronic signature.

Filing in bad faith has consequences

Knowingly misrepresenting that material is infringing can make you liable for damages, including costs and legal fees. Do not send a notice about content you do not hold the rights to.

3. What we do with a notice#

  1. 1We acknowledge your notice, normally within 2 business days.
  2. 2If it is complete, we remove or disable access to the material.
  3. 3We notify the user who posted it and send them a copy of the notice.
  4. 4We tell them how to file a counter-notice.
  5. 5We record the removal against their account for the purposes of our repeat-infringer rule.

4. Disputing a removal#

If your content was removed and you believe that was a mistake — you hold the rights, you have a licence, or the use is fair dealing — send a counter-notice to the same address with the subject line Counter-Notice, containing:

  1. 1Your name, address, email and telephone number.
  2. 2Identification of the material that was removed, and where it appeared.
  3. 3A statement, under penalty of perjury, that you believe in good faith it was removed as a result of a mistake or misidentification.
  4. 4Your consent to the jurisdiction of the courts of Delhi, India.
  5. 5Your physical or electronic signature.

We forward valid counter-notices to the original complainant. If they do not pursue the matter, we may restore the content after 10 to 14 business days. Play Karo creators can also appeal a takedown or copyright strike from Creator Studio → Channel status.

5. Repeat infringers#

Accounts that accumulate valid infringement notices are terminated. We count strikes across the whole account, not per project, and we do not restore credits on an account closed for repeat infringement.

6. AI-generated Output#

Generated material is not exempt from this policy. A notice about AI Output is handled exactly like a notice about an upload: if it is valid, the material comes down.

Our position on ownership, unchanged from the Terms of Service: As between you and us, the Output is yours to the fullest extent the law allows, and we assign you whatever rights we hold in it. You may use it commercially, subject to applicable law and to the terms of the AI provider that produced it. We cannot promise it is unique, protectable by copyright, or free of third-party rights.

We cannot pre-screen Output against every existing work

Models are trained on very large datasets and can produce material that resembles an existing work. We do not check Output against the world's copyrighted works before handing it to you, and we make no warranty that it infringes nothing. Whoever publishes the Output carries that risk.

Two consequences worth stating plainly:

  • An Input you had no rights to taints the Output. Uploading someone else's photograph, film frame, artwork or licensed font and transforming it with an AI tool does not create a clean work. A notice about that Output will succeed.
  • Ownership of Output is not a defence to an infringement notice. That we assigned you our rights in the Output says nothing about a third party's rights in it, and our assignment cannot give you rights we never held.

The full position is in the AI Usage Policy.
