Play Karo is where creators share AI-made films, web series and shorts, and where viewers watch and talk about them. These guidelines apply to every video, thumbnail, title, description, comment and channel on Play Karo. They sit alongside our Terms of Service, Acceptable Use Policy and the Play Karo Creator Terms.
1. What isn't allowed#
- Child safety. Anything that sexualises, endangers or exploits anyone under 18 — real or AI-generated. We remove it at once, close the channel and report it to the authorities.
- Private images shared without consent. Intimate or sexual images of a real person shared without their consent, including AI-made ones. Removed within 24 hours of a report.
- Nudity or sexual content. Pornography, sexual acts or nudity meant to arouse. Mature themes are allowed in videos rated A, but not explicit sexual content.
- Violent or graphic content. Gore, cruelty to people or animals, or content that celebrates violence. Violence in a story is fine if it isn't gratuitous and the video is rated properly.
- Hate speech. Attacking or dehumanising people because of their religion, caste, race, ethnicity, nationality, gender, sexual orientation, disability or other identity.
- Harassment or bullying. Threatening, insulting, doxxing or targeting a person, including other creators and commenters.
- Dangerous acts or self-harm. Encouraging self-harm, suicide, eating disorders, dangerous challenges, or illegal activity such as selling drugs or weapons.
- Harmful false information. False claims that can cause real harm — about health, elections, public safety or emergencies — presented as fact.
- Impersonation or misleading deepfake. Pretending to be a real person, creator or brand, or using a real person's AI likeness to deceive viewers.
- Copyright infringement. Other people's films, music, footage or characters used without permission. See our Copyright Policy.
- Spam or scam. Scams, misleading titles or thumbnails, repetitive uploads, or links that trick people.
- Fake views or engagement. Buying, trading or faking views, likes, comments or followers — including to win Creator Awards.
2. AI-made content#
Play Karo is built for AI-made storytelling. Two rules keep it honest:
- Label it. When you upload, tell us if AI made or changed the video. Viewers see an AI label on it.
- Don't deceive with real people. A realistic AI likeness of a real person needs their consent, and must never be used to mislead, defame or sexualise them.
3. Age ratings#
Rate every video honestly: U, U/A 7+, U/A 13+, U/A 16+ or A. Viewers must confirm they're 18 or older each time they start a video rated A. If a video is rated too low, our team can change its rating.
4. Reporting#
Any signed-in viewer can report a video, comment or channel with the Report button. Reports are private — creators never see who reported them. Our team reviews reports about child safety or intimate images within 24 hours, and all others within 72 hours.
You can also write to our Grievance Officer through the grievance form.
Report in good faith
Deliberately false or mass reports are themselves a breach of these guidelines.
5. Warnings and strikes#
When content breaks these guidelines we remove it, and the channel gets a warning or a strike:
| What happens | |
|---|---|
| Warning | The first time. Nothing else changes. |
| Strike 1 | You can't upload or publish for 7 days. |
| Strike 2 | You can't upload or publish for 14 days. |
| Strike 3 | Three strikes within 90 days close the channel. |
- Warnings and strikes expire 90 days after they're given.
- Severe cases — child safety, non-consensual intimate images, or a channel made to break the rules — can be closed straight away, without warnings.
- We can also suspend a channel while we look into something. Its videos are hidden while it's suspended.
- A closed channel's videos come down and its payouts are held. Prizes it already won are still paid unless they came from fake engagement.
- Anyone can be stopped from commenting on Play Karo if their comments break these guidelines.
Creators see every strike, takedown and its reason in Creator Studio → Channel status, and we email them too.
6. Appeals#
If you think we got it wrong, you can appeal each strike, takedown, suspension or closure once, from Channel status. A person reviews every appeal. If it succeeds, we undo the decision straight away — the strike is removed, the video comes back, or the channel is reinstated.
If you're still not satisfied, you can write to our Grievance Officer, and after that approach the Grievance Appellate Committee under the IT Rules, 2021.
