Creator Awards — Official Rules

A free competition on Play Karo for the best videos made by creators like you.

• It runs in the months the Play Karo team announces. You'll see it in Creator Studio and get a notification when an edition is announced.
• Each edition's dates are announced with it. Usually, entries are open from the 20th to the last day of the month, and the winners are announced on the 1st of the next month. All times are India time.
• It's free to enter. You don't need to pay any fees.

Every edition follows these steps. Its exact dates are shown in Creator Studio.

• You have a Play Karo channel that is at least 14 days old.
• Your channel has at least 50 followers.
• Your channel is in good standing — no live strike, and not suspended or closed.
• You are 13 years or older. If you are 13–17, a parent or guardian must agree before you enter.

• One video per channel in each edition. Pick your best film or web series. Shorts can't enter.
• Your entry is final. Once your channel has entered a video, it can't be changed to a different one in each edition. You can withdraw it — and enter that same video again until the last day of the month — but not another video. A disqualified entry can't be entered again.
• It must be your own original work, approved in review and public on Play Karo.
• It can be any film or web series published before the 20th — however long ago. Videos published on or after the 20th can't enter each edition.
• It must have at least 50 views from the 1st of the month before the edition's month to the day before entries open.
• A video can compete only once, ever. If a film or series took part in an earlier edition — even if it was disqualified — it can't enter again: enter a different film or series next time. (A video you withdrew didn't compete, so it can enter a later edition.)
• 18+ (A-rated) videos can enter like any other video.

The team picks which categories each edition runs.

Every entry gets a score out of 100 from the video's numbers from the 1st of the month before the edition's month to the day before entries open, plus its Quality audit.

• Views, watch time, completion, likes, comments and new followers are counted from the 1st of the month before the edition's month to the day before entries open, and saved on your entry when you enter. Viewing after that doesn't add to your score.
• Each part is compared with the other entries in the same category, so films are measured against films. Your score is temporary until entries close: it can move as other videos enter, Quality audits come in, or an entry is disqualified.
• The highest score in each category wins.
• Only real viewers count. Your own views never do.
• Quality is scored by hand by the Play Karo team on story, craft, originality and sound — 0 to 10 each.

• Your entry has had its Quality check by our team.
• It isn't flagged as copied or unoriginal.
• Your channel is still in good standing when entries close.

• The top 3 in each category win cash prizes. There are no prizes below 3rd place.
• Prizes are revealed by the Play Karo team while entries are open — at the latest with the results on the 1st of the next month.
• Cash is credited to your bank account or UPI within 7 working days of the results being announced. It doesn't wait for the monthly payout, and there's no minimum.
• Your payout details (PAN and UPI or bank) must be added in Creator Studio → Earn and checked by us. If they aren't ready when the results are announced, the prize is credited within 7 working days of them being checked.
• Cash prizes are winnings under section 194B of the Income-tax Act, so 30% TDS is deducted from a prize of more than ₹10,000.
• Prizes can't be transferred or swapped for something else.

You can take part from age 13, with a grown-up's help.

• A parent or guardian must agree to you entering. You confirm this when you enter.
• Cash prizes are paid to your parent's or guardian's bank account or UPI, using their PAN. They add their details in Creator Studio → Earn → Payout details.
• We may contact your parent or guardian to confirm before paying.

• Copying someone else's video, music or footage, or passing off their work as yours.
• Fake views — bots, view-for-view groups, paying for views, or asking people to watch from lots of accounts.
• Your video being taken down in review, or a strike on your channel during the edition.
• Fake viewing found in the numbers your video competes on (the 1st of the month before the edition's month to the day before entries open).
• Giving false details, like your age.

• An edition's rules don't change once its entries open. The only exception: we may move the last day to enter or the results day, for everyone.
• If the team needs more time to check every entry, the results may come out a little after the results day.
• The Play Karo team's Quality scores and eligibility decisions are final.
• We may change, pause or cancel an edition if something outside our control affects it.
• Entering means you also agree to the Play Karo Creator Terms and Community Guidelines.

Does it cost anything to enter? No. Creator Awards is free.

Can I enter two videos, or change my video later? No — one video per channel in each edition, and once it's entered it can't be changed to a different video. Choose your best one before you enter.

How often does Creator Awards run? Whenever the Play Karo team announces an edition — usually with entries from the 20th to the end of the month and winners on the 1st. You'll get a notification when one is announced.

Which of my video's numbers count? Those from the 1st of the month before the edition's month to the day before entries open: views, watch time, completion, likes, comments and new followers. They're saved when you enter, and viewing after that doesn't change your score.

Is there a leaderboard? No. While entries are open you see your own score in Creator Studio. Ranks and winners are announced on the 1st of the next month.

Can I enter a video that competed last time? No. Each film or series competes in one edition only. Enter a different film or series in the next edition.

When do the 50 views have to come? Between the 1st of the month before the edition's month to the day before entries open. Views before or after that don't count towards it.

I'm 15. Can I win cash? Yes. With a parent's or guardian's OK you can enter, and any cash prize is paid to their bank account or UPI with their PAN.

My channel doesn't have enough followers yet. What now? Keep growing — you need 50 followers and a channel at least 14 days old on the day you enter.
